Camp Winter: 2026

As I lie in the warmth of the gentle winters sun and the cool sea breeze reaches my cheeks, I reflect. What is it I feel drawn to share? How do I represent the spirited experience of Camp Reset: Winter 2026, to those who were not there?

In part, I feel the pull to share all the fun and playful moments: the vultures nest, gladiators arena, property hide and capture, witnessing of calves, and the dance of 1500 years. Sharing the easier, more pleasant parts, are perhaps the more ‘marketable’ sell points. An approach for those who are less conscious to the experience of the gradual and powerful shifts of the uncomfortable. After all, who would sign up for a ‘therapy camp’ of stepping into challenge on a ‘holiday’…

Yet, I can still hear the faint whisper of my own voice, shared with the children who, with bravery, joined us this winter. The hero’s journey of courage and meaning, of purpose and values.

The Power in the Process.

From the planting of the seed – reaching out to families and communities to share this opportunity.

The working of the soil – endless steps of planning, goals, bookings, therapeutic guides, role alignments, invoicing loops, mounting costs, stacking forms and reviews, team navigations and commitments, care coordinations for family, packing and stacking and purchasing and distributing, individualised set-ups and needs in a humanised way. The process of months, hours, cycles.

The under the soil navigation process – the problems ever changing and arriving, the preparation called in for each and all therapists, family members, and organisers. Hidden from the surface, raw and earthly in the human experience. Journaling, mediating, breathing, gym programming, nutrition following, injury recovering, cold & warm therapy actioning.

All to prepare for sharing a camp experience that shines like the yellow and fragrant wattle. Here but for a moment, bright fragrant memories lasting. Alongside this, a body and mind returning as a wilted blossom. I ponder if this is a feeling of resonance, felt amongst many parents and carers of children who seek to re-awaken their inner hero.

The daily path across needs, routines, voices of demands, and conflicts across directions. The path that is not all presents and ease, praise and perfection; and one that in the process, with trust, is in the highest good for all.

A mighty quest.

In the raw of this camp winter process, the inner compass brought light. The stages of food arriving on a plate, the settings being laid out and cleared and cleaned. The connection between movement and the support of bowel and enzyme preparation. The forming of safety, security and regulation from the expansion of choosing to try different. The sun rise and sunset symbolically guiding the patterns of cycles for sleep and wake processes. The depth of experiencing the edges and valleys to ground in self and with each other across all.

So we laughed, we cried, we were silent, we were loud, we found stillness, we moved with power, and we curiously explored the elements of the human experience.

Our bodies a little (or a lot) sore and likely a little stronger. Our minds open to more possibilities and perhaps a little jarred with the contrast. Our spirits re-awakened to the process of living and connecting as a community.

There is peace in the uncomfortable, where values meet meaning. In the process we meet each other and ourselves. The journey of the human hero’s within.

In an outward world of puppetry and masks, appearing with perfection and driven by fear, perhaps the path seems impossible.

This journey is open to each and all, desired by most, frequented by few.

With courage and belief I leave you with this…

What step, process can you do different to re-awaken the hero within?
